Role Overview
Rivansys is looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on UK Accountant to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate should have practical experience in UK accounting and VAT, along with a good understanding of Indian accounting and GST. The role will involve managing day-to-day accounting activities, financial documentation, bookkeeping, accounting data entry, and supporting internal teams with purchase and sales documentation.
At Rivansys, our accounting processes are managed through ERP software, so the candidate should be comfortable working with digital accounting systems and adapting to ERP-based workflows.

Key Responsibilities
UK Accounting & VAT
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities for UK operations.
- Record and maintain accurate purchase and sales entries.
- Handle invoicing, billing, payment records, and related accounting activities.
- Prepare and maintain purchase orders, purchase invoices, sales orders, and sales invoices as required.
- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly documented.
- Prepare and support UK VAT returns and related compliance activities.
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support month-end and year-end accounting and closing activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams to collect and maintain required financial information and documentation.
Indian Accounting & GST
- Maintain accounting records for the company's Indian operations.
- Record day-to-day business and company expenses accurately.
- Handle routine accounting entries and maintain supporting documents.
- Maintain a good understanding of Indian accounting practices and GST.
- Assist with GST-related accounting and compliance requirements.
- Ensure purchases, sales, expenses, and other financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
ERP & Accounting Operations
- Manage accounting activities through the company's ERP software.
- Record and update purchases, sales, expenses, invoices, payments, and other financial transactions in the ERP.
- Maintain accurate and timely accounting data across relevant ERP modules.
- Generate and maintain accounting reports and financial records through the ERP system.
- Ensure accounting information entered into the ERP is complete, accurate, and properly supported by documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and correct entry of accounting-related information.
- Adapt to and follow ERP-based accounting processes and workflows.
Documentation & Data Management
- Perform regular accounting data entry and transaction posting.
- Maintain organized records of invoices, bills, expenses, purchase documents, sales documents, and other financial records.
- Support the Sales and Operations teams with required accounting documentation.
- Prepare accounting and commercial documents as required by the business.
- Verify financial data and identify discrepancies, missing information, or incorrect entries.
- Ensure accounting records and documentation are maintained accurately and up to date.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 1+ year of relevant UK accounting experience.
- Practical knowledge of UK VAT.
- Good understanding of Indian accounting and GST.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Experience in bookkeeping, accounting entries, invoicing, and bank reconciliation.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new accounting software and digital workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with different teams.
